Locus Solus is a project curated and directed by Sozita Goudouna. It is named after, and inspired on, Raymond Roussel’s 1914 novel. For an exhibition in Benaki museum in Athens, contemporary artists were asked to make a piece of work based on ideas explored in the novel.
Christ Church Panel is the project that developed from this brief, and was created especially for the exhibition. It contemplates the life of an 18th century oak panel from Christ Church in Spitalfields, London. Made in collaboration with Art Conservator Elsbeth Geldhof and Art therapist Michael Stokes, the Christ Church Panel installation piece was shown at Benaki Museum in September 2010.
